CURRICULUM VITAE

Emanuele Piuzzi received the M.S. degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering from "La Sapienza" University of Rome in 1997, with a thesis on heating induced inside a model of the human eye irradiated by millimeter-wave fields.

In 2001 he received the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering, with a final dissertation on "Human exposure to electromagnetic fields radiated by wireless telecommunication systems". The same year he was awarded a four-year reasearch fellowship for developing a research on "Evaluation of the environmental impact of modern mobile communication systems using smart antennas".

Emanuele Piuzzi is currently an associate professor in Electrical and Electronic Measurements at the Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications, Sapienza University of Rome.

His main research activities are related to dielectric spectroscopy measurements on liquid and granular materials, TDR applications, impedance pneumography and UWB radar techniques for the monitoring of physiological activity in patients, electrical impedance tomography, and assessment of human exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Emanuele Piuzzi serves as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, Measurement, IEEE Sensors Journal, IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, and Bioelectromagnetics.

He is member of the Italian Group of Electrical and Electronic Measurements (GMEE), of the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI), and of IEEE.
